Surrender in the Mountains
Surrender in the Mountains is a spiritual retreat held by Alabama Northwest Florida Region of Narcotics Anonymous. From its inception it was designed to be a retreat where the fundamental purpose is to allow addicts to come together in a spiritual atmosphere. The event is held annually at Bald Rock Lodge at Cheaha State Park. The retreat consists of speaker meetings, workshops, on-site lodging, and meals. Morning meditations on Bald Rock are absolutely a “must” experience for all addicts in attendance. Surrender in the Mountains is a weekend filled with addicts sharing their experience, strength, hope and the message “That no addict seeking recovery need ever die.”
What is the Narcotics Anonymous Program?
Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work.
